Summer List

I am so excited to take my first vacation in a ((whole)) year here at work. Brian and I are going to be going to Taos, New Mexico. I can hardly wait! Since my excitement is getting the best of me right now I decided to make a list of simple yet fun things to do this summer.

1. go on a bike ride
2. picnic with my boyfriend
3. bbq. bbq. and umm...bbq.
4. lay out by the pool all day long
5. take a road trip (maybe to Austin or San Antonio)
6. walk through a farmers market
7. take lots of photos
8. hang out with friends
9. float the river
10. make lots of summer salads

Etsy Finds- Lake Edition 6/28/11

This weekend is 4th of July and we are heading out to the lake for a loooong weekend. I can't wait! I love to get away for a little bit even if its just to East Texas. I am planning on doing a little thirfting this weekend too! I am looking for the perfect little table for my studio space.

Since I am going to the lake this weekend- I am doing a "lake edition" of etsy finds. Here are some cute things I found on etsy that would be perfect for a trip to the lake:

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was great. Friday night was our date night- We had a treat this weekend. We went to Houston's Restaurant. I have not been there is so long. It is a little over priced for our everyday budget so it was nice to go out on an expensive date. I really enjoyed the food and especially loved spending one on one time with Brian. After dinner we went home and watched the newest Harry Potter (we had not seen it yet). It was sooo good! I can't wait until the next movie comes out! :)

my dinner was so good- I couldn't finish it all. 

Saturday we hung out with Brian's brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. We have not seen them in a while, and it was nice to catch up. Espesically because we got to see Preston (Brian's nephew). He is so adoreable. He has grown so much since the last time we saw them. He is finally getting his personality!-He is also very cubby!

We also did a little shopping on Sunday. I found some cute sandles! I have been looking for some shoes for a while now. We also relaxed most of the day.

I have been adding a few new items to the shop today. These little babies are only 9.00! My favorite is the Braided Leather Bracelet No. 004. These bracelets are great for summer and for layering with you other bracelets! They are very delicate and comfortable. They would be great for everyday wear. There are the four different color options currently available in the shop. I will be adding more color combos soon- so be sure to check back!

For your Home- DIY Dresser/Cabinets

Aren't these DIY dresser/cabinets great?! Makes me want to find one and totally redo it! I also love the patterns they used - So cute! I will now be on the hunt for a great dresser/cabinet to revamp.

On a side note- My mom left today for Colorado. I am really gonna miss her! We always used to work on projects like this.

I love this necklace!! I can't believe that it is felted and handbeaded...amazing!!

 Leather bracelets are awesome. I am working on some right now for my shop. Can't wait to see what you all think.

It has been windy lately here in Dallas. I learned my lesson by wearing a skirt to work yesterday! Pants the rest of the week.

My mom is moving to Colorado tomorrow...I am taking a vacation day today to help her pack! I am going to be very sad when she leaves. I am trying to stay positive though..good thing I have Brian to cheer me up. I am thinking puppies and snowcones to put me in better spirits! :)
